The Power of Codes
Hello. Today I am going to be telling you about codes and what they do.
Morse code
Morse code is a very well known code. A lot of sailors use morse code because, when it is dark it can be written with a torch but, on paper it is well known for being dots and dashes. If you use a torch a dash would be a long flash of light and a dot would be a short one. The most common thing written with morse code is ‘SOS’ in morse code it is:
. . . _ _ _ . . .
Or with a torch it is:
Short flash x3
Long Flash x3
Short Flash x3
Here is the whole alphabet in Morse Code:
Other Codes
There are lots of different types of code and did you know, a language is also a type of code.
Have you ever done coding on a computer. Computers need to be given instructions in a code they understand. It is really fun and that includes code too! I use Tynker.
Codes are used in Wars too because you wouldn’t want the enemy to know what you are going to do.
In World War II the Germans came up with a code called Enigma.
Here’s a picture of the machine they used:
Then to crack the code, English made a machine called:
The Bombe Machine
It was enormous but it worked!
This is one of the things that helped Britain win World War II.
Here is a video.
I hope you liked this post.
Oh and, if you want to know were I get my ideas from(I get most of them from school) I get them from In A Nutshell.

P.S. If you like using computers then as well as learning to code you could learn to touch type (if you don’t already know how).
By the way it is totally free unless you want premium (I do it in school!)
Thanks Ayesha! I loved this post and thanks for answering my question! :)
