Introduction
Hi Everyone! I can’t believe it is now 2021 the time has flown by soooo quick.
I mean I remember the start of the year. That first lockdown just surprised us all as we thought 2020 was going to be a normal year and nothing was going to change but since then everything has. We did not expect it would come to this did we. I remember the look on Amna’s face when her birthday was cancelled she was super angry.
Anyway, last week I was just having a break but, I am really sorry I missed it. This week we will be carry ing on with the subject of Greek Gods and Goddesses. We were at the part when Gaia had given Rhea some advise on getting her babies back. If you don’t remember go take a peek back at my last blog.
So lets begin.
Greek Gods and Goddesses Pt.2
Rhea had done what Gaia had said, she gave Cronus a stone wrapped in cloth and Cronus ate it! Then she hid her young baby Zeus in a cave.
He was looked after by a magic goat and a few nymphs. The magic goat had special milk that made Zeus grow up big and strong. When Zeus was stronger than Cronus he went out to find is father.
Rhea sent him a wife called Metis. She was very wise. Metis told Zeus that he must not attack his father until he had some powerful friends and Metis knew just where to find them. Zeus hid behind a tree while Metis dressed up as an old herb woman. After that Metis stood on the side of the rode and waited until Cronus walked by. When he did she said ‘Try my herbs of power’. Cronus was interested because, lately he had be thinking Rhea was plotting against him. Metis handed him a bottle of green liquid. Cronus gulped down the whole thing. It was disgusting and bitter then Cronus was sick. And all of Zeus’ brothers and sisters came out. They were called:
Hera
Demeter
Hestia
Hades
and Poseidon
Cronus looked at their furious faces and then ran away leaving his powers behind him. Zeus picked them up and said in a booming voice ‘I am now the master of the universe’ and everyone heard and got very scared.
This is the story of how the Greek Gods and Goddesses came to power but it isn’t the end of there stories. If you are still interested there loads of books to help you. I have a book called Atticus the storyteller’s 100 Greek Myths I would highly recommend it.
That’s all for today so
Bye
Ayesha
